The Daily Whisper
Sanitary Napkin Repackaging for the Indian MarketMenstruation is a taboo in India. Moreover, when you buy a sanitary napkins packet, it is wrapped in a newspaper or a black bag. This behavior is because of the shame associated with the topic. My idea was to redesign the packaging so that it looks like a newspaper from the outside while also serving a larger purpose. The newspaper print will contain information about sanitary hygiene and helpline numbers for women.
The paper is designed bi-lingual with pictographic instructions at the back to help reach a larger rural audience. If implemented, this could help create a safe space for women to voice their concerns and educate themselves about personal hygiene.
